My name is Clyde Shufran and I reside at 283 S Tiago Dr in Madera Parc Estates. My backyard looks out onto Cooper Rd where the road construction is in progress. Unfortunately, my house is located immediately adjacent to where the TRANSITION from the new asphalt pavement to the old pavement occurs. Since completing the overnight shift of Cooper Rd traffic to the west side of the road, the extreme loud banging noise and jarring vibration from trucks hitting that TRANSITION in the pavement is very unsettling. In particular, the large semi-trucks that speed up and down Cooper Rd are mostly contributing to this problem. I would appreciate it if you would investigate this issue and initiate a solution ASAP. This pavement TRANSITION needs to be improved! The transfer from 'old to new' pavement is TOO ABRUPT and needs to be gradually 'feathered' to reduce the loud banging and vibration that is occurring.
Your immediate handling of this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Extended ramp transition work was completed on 2/8/24. See attached photo.

The transition repair at Cooper and Stetson is INADEQUATE. It should be identical to the transition installed at Cooper and Stratford which is just north of Elliot Rd. The long-trailer Weinberger semi-trucks that speed along Cooper at all hours of the day and night are the main culprits. Especially during the early morning hours between 1AM and 5AM when traffic volume is 'very light' and the Weinberger trucks can speed across this transition. The past few nights, my wife and I have been awakened multiple times due to these large semi-trucks causing my house to SHAKE AND VIBRATE when these large trucks hit the transition. It's like I mentioned in my initial complaint, 1 inch of elevation difference will require a MINIMUM of 48 inches of transitional slope. The current transition repair, especially on the north-bound side of Cooper Rd traffic, is barely 30".

Since the contractor had finished widening the transition section at Stetson and Cooper, it was determined that trucks traveling at high speeds over the transition were causing excessive noise.
Police presence has been increased to deter speeding truck drivers in the area.
