Description
Since moving to this house in Sept. 2015, I have had a repeated problem of having my driveway, on 1st St N, being blocked by parked cars. I have reported this problem to the Police Dept. on 3 occasions; on 2 other occasions, my wife or I saw the driver and the driver then moved the car after we talked with them. I was advised by the police that I should contact the Mayor's Action Council to request that "No Parking" signs be placed by my driveway. I am hereby making that request. Thank you.

Thank you for your e-mail which was forwarded to me by Mr. Michael Frederick regarding your private driveway being repeatedly blocked. First of all my apologies to you for the misinformation which you received from one or more of our employees. A memorandum of clarification regarding the specific Florida State Statute which covers the violation of private driveway parking was drafted with my authorizing signature and forwarded to all police personnel. This memorandum served to educate any officers who were uncertain of their authority to act when confronted with such a violation. Should you have any more problems with your private driveway being blocked in the future, please contact our non-emergency number, (727) 893-7780 to have an officer dispatched immediately to handle your complaint. If your complaint involves a particular neighbor who has committed this violation on more than one occasion, please contact Community Service Sergeant, Cory Crawford, at (727) 893-4819. Thank you for bringing your concern to our attention.
Sincerely,
Luke C. Williams,
Assistant Chief of Police
