Thank you for sharing your concerns regarding the cinders. The Street Department is working diligently to remove all cinders from all the roadways within the City Limits. There are 236+ miles of roadway to maintain within the City and only 3 Sweeper Trucks to do so. This will and has been a very daunting task as the sweeper trucks do not work faster than 5mph. We have been trying to keep up with the numerous snow storms that the Gallup area has received over the last several weeks. With each storm, we have had to start all over with cinder removal so keeping up has been the challenge. However, we are doing our best with the cinder removal. We are planning to start clean up in the neighborhood residential areas within the next upcoming weeks. We kindly request your continued patience and understanding with this matter.
