Description

Large trucks park on both sides of 19th street between Randolph and Medford. It hinders visual of oncoming traffic when turning onto 19th from both sides of Medford. The street is narrow. I have witnessed a school bus barely being able to squeeze through and my self having to turn around due to the narrow gap between the large trucks. Is there a way to limit parking to one side of the street. Or to block parking close to the intersection so oncoming traffic is not blocked from view?

Isn’t this also a bike lane? Can’t park in a bike lane right? And I second this complaint- people speed down this road and I’ve almost been tboned a few times backing out of my driveway on 19th

This was dispatched to TPD and an officer checked the area today. There was only 1 truck parked there at that time and it was legally parked. There are no signs prohibiting parking on either side of the street and the presence of the bike lane also does not prohibit street parking. I am forwarding this complaint to the street department to look into. Possibly signage needs to be added limiting parking to just one side of the street.

From our observation and looking at various google map street views, the situation you describe is random. Parking in residential neighborhoods is considered very valuable to the residents where the parking is located. This is a residential street and parking is considered a traffic calming element.
