Description
Need a sign review of this intersection. There's no stop sign on birch - could be a one or multi way stop control. The wrong way signs at hemlock and marvel wood are hard to see and could use a review. Additionally there's no "wrong way" at birch and hemlock. There's been a lot of reports of cars driving up the wrong way. Thanks!

Although I myself did not originally post this, I know that it most emphatically is not a "historical issue" -- this is still an ongoing issue, which has not been addressed at all in the three years since this post was submitted.
In fact, this request was one aspect of a more comprehensive Complete Streets application that was filed with the city SIX years ago, which has never been acted on, even though the city itself organized a neighborhood meeting and walk-around about it two years ago.
This more limited request, for a review of signage, where we, the neighbors who live here, know that signage has proved to be inadequate, should not be either difficult or expensive. This is an ongoing issue. Please open it again.

Thank you for this review - and for the post. The recommendation of the contra-flow bike lane is also very interesting. I would like to reopen this issue - due to the condition of pavement I believe there may be an opportunity for more than striping and signage in review.
Also w/r/t stop sign not existing at Birch, I've attached a screen shot of the crash database for birch and hemlock (not pictured above). There are no crashes since 2015 at the intersection; crash data is a major 'warrant' in installation of stop signs: https://www.cga.ct.gov/2005/rpt/2005-R-0204.htm (OLS report from 2005 is still a good resource for how stop signs are analyzed locally). If you would like to pursue, I would recommend discussing with your Alder to measure public/political support.
