Ok yeah seriously this developer or whoever is closing the lane can NOT do this during drive time in the morning or afternoon. We are just sitting in traffic trying to head north toward 2100 N. Been a half hour now. We all understand things get developed and have to be done, but this hassle should not land on homeowners in the area. There is a school right there for crying out loud. The hassle should be for the developer to pay the contractors overtime to do this during non peak hours. It is truly disgusting that the state and city have allowed this area get this bad. You don’t build and build and build and then say oops we need to hurry and expand these roads. Don’t give us that excuse that growth has been much quicker than expected. And then on top of poor planning you allow a lane to be closed during peak hours. Truly incapable under qualified people planning our roads and transportation.

Thank you for submitting the request however UDOT only maintains 2100 North at this location. They do not have a permit to close down any 2100 North lanes. 2300 West is a Lehi road, and UDOT does not issue permits for work on this road. I would suggest calling Lehi roads department at (801) 768-7102.

Way to avoid the issue like always. First of all it took forever for UDOT to respond. Sure it’s a Lehi road, but let’s be proactive and contact Lehi and say it’s affecting traffic that links to the state highway. And also let’s ignore that this whole area is a complete fail on UDOT’s planning efforts and any future plans are a decade too late. Got that box checked at least and you can now clear this issue from the concerned citizens.

UDOT set up 2100 north in an effort to be able to create a freeway down the middle of it. Plans for the future were in place at the time this road was being built. You can refer to the 2100 North Freeway project page here: https://mountainview.udot.utah.gov/#/.

I didn’t initially post this issue but am a very frustrated home owner in the area. I know the process, and the process is broken and should be changed if there is this much congestion in an area. I could bet that 100% of us who have to use these roads everyday still vote poor planning on UDOT’s part…really in most of the state for major arteries. Phoenix for example builds freeways in what seems like the middle of nowhere, and then the growth happens. How the ‘experts’ can’t foresee things in our metro areas is really a shame.
