Most of Beacon St is in serious disrepair. The potholes are pretty bad, but lately I've noticed that most of the roadway markings/paint have worn off and show no signs of being replaced. I understand that the roadway will be ripped up and completely replaced, but if that will not happen this summer, I really hope that we can at least get some new roadway markings laid out so that road users better understand how to safely utilize the roadway, specifically, keeping cars and cyclists safely segregated.
If Beacon St will actually be torn up shortly to start replacing the roadway then this may not be necessary, but if roadway reconstruction will not begin this season then this is very important to take care of!

This issue has been outstanding for 120 days now. Just the other day I was biking on Beacon St, in the area that was formally known as the bicycle lane, when I was almost right hooked by a driver who was not paying attention, likely because THERE ARE NO MORE PAINTED BICYCLE LANES.
Fortunately, I ride with a GoPro mounted on my helmet, so you can get a first hand look at how dangerous this is. Here's a couple of viewing pointers:
1) Driver passes me, then starts to move over, and only once they are encroaching into the bicycle lane do they use their turn indicator. This is probably because THERE IS NO PAINT and the driver literally had no idea what they were doing.
2) The road is super bumpy, which makes emergency stops on a bicycle even more dangerous. If either wheel locks (because you get launched into the air on a pothole) the wheel will skid and I will fall. Under another vehicle's tires. I'm not really ok with this scenario. But we can help prevent this one with some paint!
3) The driver's actions are 100% illegal (MGL Ch 90 Sec 14), but they seem to have no idea. What is the City doing to help educate drivers? Surely if the city cannot put some paint down on the roads, we can use that money to print out some flyers or something that we can hand out?
4) Or maybe the City will just supplying all cyclists with loud horns for the bicycles? Because that's the only good defense if the city cannot maintain the roads.
