It became a routine that most approaches to Hermann Park Dr. are blocked:
1. It is impossible to get to Hermann Park Dr. directly from Main Street.
2. Entrance from Cambridge Street is blocked as well.

With all these closures and luck of guidance, many cars are wondering around (especially for out-of-town visitors), creating unnecessary extra traffic in the areas. There are no signs for detours. Most (all?) map navigation engines suggest driving on Main street and then getting to Hermann Park Dr. When you follow those directions, and get a barricade, - what would you do? you try going on Fannin Street, looking for a place to make a U-turn. Fannin St. is busy as it is, with the trains. And then you make a left turn onto Cambridge. That turn is complicated (with very confusing signs!) when the trains are approaching, as you have to share the lane with a train.
And then if you made a U-turn on Cambridge, Right-turn onto Funnin St. is also always busy, and frequently it takes more than 1 (sometimes 3!) light cycles to pass that intersection.

On top of that, all entrances to the parking by the Zoo, except for one are blocked, which make that yet another bottle-neck.
And if you do not know that, if you miss that entrance, you create additional traffic as you are trying to get back.

Suggestions:
1. Reconsider the traffic patterns for people getting to the main parking for the main entrance to the Zoo and Hermann Park train.
Those "temporary" barricades became a permanent feature: on weekends and all-week along.
It is ridiculous to have the streets and then block them off!!

2. Improve signs. Give people information of how they can get around the barricades.
3. Work with Google Maps and other similar navigation providers to provide information about the ACTUAL street layout and closures.

All these measures would help decrease the unnecessary traffic in the area!
