Description
The DoT apparently destroyed, leveled to the ground, two brick and limestone stanchions that have proudly marked this entry to the West Midwood neighborhood since 1924 without any warning or notice to the community. As a resident and homeowner in that community, I find this outrageous and demand that they be rebuilt using original materials.

response to "community requests" but would not divulge who made the requests. CB 14 should demand not only the restoration of the stanchions but details of who made the "requests," on what basis and DOT's decision making process in this matter. FOIL the information if necessary.

As a resident and homeowner in this community, I received no notification from the DOT regarding the destruction of these stone street name gateposts, which are of great architectural, historic and cultural significance to the area and Brooklyn?

The DOT's actions in this matter have been reckless, ungracious and inconsiderate to the community and the city's very fabric. Unbelievable!
