Description
I do not wish to participate in your recycling program! Not allowing me to opt-out is nothing more than a tax levied by the city of Saint Petersburg! Give me the right to refuse this program -

I have lived here all my life. The city did have a recycling program about 17 years ago but it was canceled. Why you ask??? The city was caught bringing all the recycling to the incinerator and not actually recycling.

The recycle program was optional with neat boxes to place on the curb. It worked until the Givernment (City) got involved. Now we have ugly large blue monsters which cannot be picked up due to narrow streets and parked cars. You can bet they will be left on the curb for days at a time or until the wind, etc slams them into people and cars. 80,000 monuments to bad decisions now litter St Petersburg. I called the City and they said they would pick mine up on July 1. I will still pay the tax increase but not be burdened washing, storing and moving my trash.
We need to elect new Cuty Council Members who can think things out more clearly.

Thank you for your past submission via SeeClickFix. The City of St Petersburg periodically reviews past reports that are made from citizens within our city limits, and in an effort to clean-up old issues that were resolved some time ago, we are marking as 'closed' those issues that were submitted in the past for which the work has been completed or the issue has otherwise been resolved.
If you think for any reason that the issue you submitted in the past might still be unresolved, please feel free to submit a new report with the SeeClickFix St. Pete website and we will make sure the issue is directed to the appropriate City department to be addressed as soon as possible.
Thank you, MAC
