There is a very large pothole in the turning lane to get onto 65 South. It is nearly in the middle of the lane although I hit it anyway. I didn't see it when I hit it but I certainly felt it! When using the turning lane the second time I did see it and understood immediately why I felt the impact I did.

If more people knew of this site there would certainly be numerous complaints about this issue. This is the kind of pothole that will wreck your vehicle's alignment and can definitely cause a tire to blow out. Thousands of people a day access 65 South via this turning lane off of Old Hickory Boulevard. PLEASE repair this pothole. It's at least 18 inches across and 6 inches deep.

I'm sorry to hear that your car was damaged. I was afraid of that happening. I guess I was really lucky the same thing didn't happen to me. I really hope this pothole is repaired SOON. I can't recall ever having driven through something like that before...the jolt is something I won't soon forget.

This location is a state highway, and the Tennessee Department of Transportation is responsible for repairing it. Public Works has notified TDOT, but in the future, any pothole problems on the interstate or a state highway should be reported directly to TDOT's maintenance office at (615) 350-4400. Likewise, pothole repairs on Metro streets can be addressed sooner if they are reported directly to Public Works by calling (615) 862-8750. Reporting potholes to a third party will not guarantee the responsible agency will be notified in a timely manner.
