Spoke with the property owner. The construction project is not yet finished but he said they would get the port-a-potty removed.

Gee, only 5 months after the original posting you've cleared the issue! Glad the property owner and/or contractor were a little more prompt in their attention to the issue.

The owner took care of this in a timely manner. Closing the complaint wasn't a top priority. This is just an administrative process.

Informing the public is part of the work, and this tool makes it extremely simple to share updated information. There are over 400 acknowledged issues going back to 2012. These should have updated information added and be officially closed. Many of the issues that are closed do not have adequate information and updates added before they are closed or archived. I think dmeals is simply expressing the feelings of many citizens: updating the public and closing these reports is the level of service Burlington citizens are expecting, and is the reason for the city paying for the SCF service in the first place.

This is the administrative process. The priority goes to fixing the issue. Those close to and those who filed the complaint see the issue on a regular basis and know when the issue is resolved. Just because something is showing an open status does not mean the issue has not been resolved. Just like shoes over power lines that I am sure have been removed but the computer process is not closed. As multitudes of complaints get processed daily the older ones get shuffled and the process sometimes gets over looked, but does not mean it is not resolved. We collectively as a group try to keep up with these but things like sidewalk and graffiti complaints take longer periods of time to resolve because of the season. The process is not perfect but I do applaud the people who do put the hard effort into getting the issues resolved, especially the ones that have no simple answer.
