You forget that people also go left out of Millers Lane to go up Lucas Avenue. Pulling out of Millers Lane to make that left with that hill there and limited vision is dangerous. That is why the light is there and needs to stay there. Learn to be patient instead. The light needs to stay. Or go another way.

Several years ago when Al Teetsel was the Alderman the Common Council approved that a new traffic light with a turn arrow would be installed. Of course they approved it without knowing where the funding for a new signal would come from.
Looking ahead, if and when the light is replaced it will be possible for the new one to have a sensor to know when a car is waiting on Miller's Lane.
The light is necessary since it helps keep cars from speeding past the park (you can clock some drivers at 50 coming down Lucas Ave). For the safety of motorists as well as park visitors it is important to have it there.

This Traffic Light signal is implemented incorrectly. This Signal needs Fixed!
I have done much research on this, being a frequent traveler and resident.
1) Sensor is placed in the middle of the Road.
Traffic leaving Lucas Ave lane will trigger the light. Thus people see the light turn red when no traffic was at the light.
I have experimented with exiting Lucas onto Millers staying as far right as possible... but the still triggers.
2) Sensor is too far forward... some people stop befpre the sensor, never triggering it.
You practically need to be at the intersection to trigger the sensor, straining your neck to look up at the light.
3) As for the lights existence... it is nice having a pushbutton crosswak at this intersection.
We should not remove the light just because it was improperly installed, we should fit it so
it works the way it should have years ago.

Please move the Sensor for this Light, so it only goes Red when a Car approaches from Millers Lane.
It currently is on the wrong side of the road and is triggered by traffic coming off of Lucas Avenue.

I agree useless,

This light is not on a sensor...it is on a timer. I walk my dog through there at 4am and it changes every 5 minutes or so(maybe less) for each direction when there are no cars on the road at all.

Not to mention the waste of fuel at these stop lights that are not needed.

It's been useless to get this fixed.
