One minute after I hung up, non-emergency phoned me back! They're sending a cop out to the intersection, says the lady I spoke to, and presumably they'll get the light fixed ASAP.

Hey, faithful readers: I went out to wait for the bus at Orange and Canner around 11 and saw a cop keeping an eye on things where UI is working there. I asked him if he knew anything about the streetlight problem a block up and he said, "No, I don't usually work this beat, what's wrong?" I explained the situation and he said, "Wow, ok, let me go take a look." He hustled up there. In the meantime, my bus came. I got on the bus and saw he was walking back toward Orange and Canner. He saw me on the bus and gave me a thumbs up -- so I guess it got fixed. I tried to see for myself but wasn't able to from where I was on the bus. I'll have a gander when I'm back in the neighborhood later today -- if anyone else can see, please post.
