The bike is located in a horrible spot. Maybe if it was up against the fence it wouldn't be so bad, but at night when driving up to the stop sign on brockman it's easily mistaken as a biker on the side walk. Which could cause an accident especially during the winter if there is ice.

The ghost bike is a memorial & a reminder to motorists to drive carefully & be alert to bicyclists. Please do not remove it. Is should be there as a constant reminder. I can't believe anyone would ask to have it removed. How disrespectful!

Very tragic what happened and understandable wanting to make a memorial to him. Sadly, I drive by this every day and find it distracting as do others I've spoken to. In the peripheral field of vision, unique objects tend to cause more motorist collisions especially at higher speeds near intersections.

If this bike could be mistaken for a live biker and cause somebody to slow down, it is in the perfect location.

Did city staff move or remove the bike? Also, there is another ticket for vegetation blocking sight distance on the other side of Brockman at Stadium.

It's not a matter of disrespect. It can't stay there forever (due to the elements and entropy). Unfortunately most drivers don't even know the significance of that bike; they are just visually diverted away from having their eyes on the road. I personally think a different location or a different memorial would be more advisable. Everyone is allowed to state their observations and views in a respectful way. The city has the final say, as that memorial is on the right-of-way. Regrettably we haven't been given any answer or explanation.

Should we remove all cemetery headstones since, per that logic, leaving them in place after dozens or hundreds or years is morbid?
