David, actually the loop in the left turn lane of EB Mt. Hope to NB Harrison detects bicycles if you're right over the loop. So it can be done.

I've heard of some people laying their bikes over on their sides to trip a sensor, but it might be easier to allow a car to get in front of you or... lobby the state legislature for an Idaho-style law where bikes (and motorcycles as well) are allowed to treat red lights as yields for this exact reason. I have to agree. Light is not giving green for northbound cyclists.
