56th Pl N will require engineering design prior to paving under the MSTU Roadway Program. Design will include drainage improvements. The work completed on 61st St. N. was in conjunction with our MSTU Roadway program and included re-establishing existing drainage swales that had been filled in over time. Staff have been working diligently to maximize the lane miles paved each year since the program was re-established in 2014. This section of roadway is currently a candidate for improvement in plan year/fiscal year 2019. Any necessary engineering design work would be completed prior to the plan year.

It's hard to imagine any roads in greater neglect than 56th Place North. Very unfortunate how the County has routinely made the hard working, tax paying residents in this area feel so disenfranchised. It's time for a change; and we're going to be the impetus of that change.

Members of Public Works – Asset Management or Public Works – Roadway Operations/Maintenance are available to answer any questions regarding the program and the roadways included in the program. We'll be contacting our County commissioners and state and U.S. representatives. Pinellas County has disenfranchised all too long the hard working, tax paying residents in this area.

Since this drainage work has started, we have water sitting in our dish and its a mosquito breeding ground!. The ditch was dug out up to my house, but no farther down the road? This makes no sense. Even a "non engineer", such as myself knows water does not drain uphill! The rest of the ditch ALL THE WAY TO THE END OF THE Road needs to be dug out!. We have enough of a problem with water in our yards because of the road patching and raising it over the years. The county is now causing a mosquito problem that qas already bad to be worse!
