Description

Road is flooded again. And it is NOT due to "erosion and sediment controls" or whatever the city is claiming the issue is. It's been flooding here for decades before the stupid construction started and made it worse. When speaking to some people on site with the road crews this morning they are saying that no one knows why, themselves included. So to say it's "due to erosion and sediment controls" is an outright lie. I'll spare everyone a current pic and attach one from the street being flooded before the construction ever started.... You're right! Must be from those "sediment and erosion controls" that weren't even in place at the time.

the outfall of the new drainage system is not done. the contractor has a pump there with a 8 inch discharge line to the pound under the new bridge .The road will drain down it just takes long .

Here we go again. The City just responds to the problem and can't seem to fix the problem. It's been flooding for years, and way before the construction of the road work.

This is a VDOT project and they have been made aware of your concerns. If there are any further concerns in regards to the Lynnhaven Parkway widening project please contact the VDOT Construction Manager at 757-494-5479 or the City Liaison for the project at 757-385-4161.

This has been pawned off on VDOT, this issue has been going on for the 23 years I have lived here and no one has ever addressed it. When VDOT is gone and it is still an issue what then? You knew if was an issue, every time it rained someone from the city came out and put up High Water signs, long before VDOT was involved.

This is a city storm drain problem, not a VDOT problem. Dalrymple St. has flooded since we moved here in 1975. We have been told told for 40 years that the next part of the development would solve the problem. It never has. And yes, someone always comes out and places high water signs. So the city has always known all along it was a problem. There is something wrong with the storm drains on Dalrymple St from Kilt St. to Lynnhaven Parkway and into the cul-de-sac.

You are invited to please contact City Council by this week to request that storm water be the budget priority before they spend your $ on something else. Email addresses/phone for council members are listed on vb.gov. Also theres a fb page you can like called Stop the Flooding Now (not in 10 more years).

This is a storm drain flooding. The reservoir fills up and the water has no where to go. We flood here too on Angus Drive just down from dalrymple and Lynnhaven. I thought when the Lynnhaven construction was completed and new storm drains were put in it would solve this flooding problem but not so. Still have flooding in this area. Maybe they need to dredge the creek again.
