Description
For the past year, a homeless couple has been sleeping on the steps of Chops Restaurant, and using these steps to intravenously shoot drugs as well; I live at 725 Walnut Street, and to be honest, this block is turning into Skid Row, because there are 5 other homeless people who sleep on other steps on this block.....what can be done to help and protect me and my family, who pay rent here and shop at all nearby businesses.

Thomas -
I also love at 725 Walnut (this is chris in 2b). We need to band together on this. I've contacted Chops with no luck and have called homeless outreach (all they do is deliver them hot food when I call).

I contacted Chops via their Facebook page 2-3 weeks ago with these same concerns. Whoever runs their page (I assume their manager) responded that the best he can do is keep the lights on as he has tried to bribe them to keep them away with no luck. From what I've seen, the lights to their main entrance are sometimes on, the lights to the entrance across from our door are either never on or are very weak.
What was just the two of them on one step has turned into 3-6 on any given night between the two sets of stairs. Just last week, I heard them arguing.. "You have a fu&^%ng bag of heroin on you!, you need to get up".
I have never seen them shoot up directly, but have seen them taking turns covering themselves with blankets while the other plays lookout. Sometimes they are obviously messed up out of their minds (staring off into space and falling over while struggling to sit up, etc..). One such time prompted me to call homeless outreach (the only non-emergency number I could find, in hindsight I should have and shall just call 911 directly), who as I said before, just brought them food and nothing more.
At the very least, there has to me more Chops can do to prevent them from squatting on their property.

I don't understand why the cops don't do anything-When those go into starbucks to use the bathroom they often leave their needles in there-that's so dangerous. It's all so ridiculous
