I have asked our traffic signal consultant to check the signal timing at the intersection and to make adjustments as necessary.

Please look into this light problem. In the morning it can take several minutes for this light to change. Sometimes there is no traffic on Church St. even in this case the light will not change!! 4 or 5 minutes added to my trip while in Decatur can add 15 to 20 minutes because of added traffic. Please this has been going on for several months and was reported more than a month ago.

I met with the signal timing consultant at the intersection last week and the equipment seemed to be working correctly. I was onsite Tuesday morning from 7:30am until 8:00am and the longest time that I observed a vehicle waiting on Forkner Drive was one minute which is how the signal is configured. Church Street will remain green if there are no cars on the side street sensors. We will keep a check on this signal to make sure there is not an equipment malfunction causing a problem.
