This is such a problem that I no longer take southbound Cedar from 55. It is dangerous and I have seen too many close calls and too many angry drivers.
On the rare occasion when I take this route at evening rush hour, someone makes an illegal right turn at every light change.
I now go down to 26th St E and head west to southbound Cedar.
Problem solved for me at least, however I am disappointed that the police have not put a car at this intersection in the evening.
