There's no safe place to cross 12th for several blocks each way. This would be an ideal place for a cross-walk since lots of people cross here to get down to Cal Anderson park.

A crosswalk at this location would extend the middle pedestrian access to Cl Anderson Park on the east side of the park. This busy and pleasant way to encourage walking would tie the west access already in place that wonders across Broadway and through the SSCC campus. Too many walkers already use it not to add one.

A pedestrian was struck by a pickup truck and seriously injured last week half a block up from this intersection. Granted, he still shouldn't have been crossing mid-street, but it highlights how dangerous this street can be. With the high number of pedestrians crossing the street here, we need a crosswalk to better protect them.
