The City of Falls Church's Master Plan for the redevelopment of Big Chimneys Park includes remediation of the drainage issues as one goal. Unfortunately, re-grading the park and improving the drainage system for a permanent solution to the drainage problem is very costly. In the current budget environment, a permanent solution is not feasible. However, staff of the Recreation & Parks Division and the Engineering Division will be conducting a survey of all park drainage issues later this month (June) to determine if there are any short-term solutions to remedy the drainage issues in Big Chimneys Park. Anyone who has a concern about a City park, program or service, can report it directly to the City for quick response: click on "contact us" on the City web site, www.fallschurchva.gov, or email info@fallschurchva.gov or call 703-248-5004. While "The Daily Gripe" says this complaint was reported more than 100 days ago, the Washington Post only launched this feature recently.
