So it's ok to go against city regulations and show no consideration towards your neighbors? Nobody is asking for a perfect yard, but spending 30 minutes every couple of weeks is not a lot to ask.
Chuck, it's ok to disregard city regulations? This isn't about the perfect yard, it's more about being a good neighbor and citizen. Spending 30 minutes on the yard every couple of weeks is not a lot to ask.
My idea of a good citizen is not someone who reports anonymously a minor lawn infraction. Did they talk to the person to see if they are elderly or have a sickness in the family. My neighbors just got back from Florida yesterday, maybe this is their case. Is grass being too long more important than people speeding through neighborhoods or school zones? Should I go around reporting jay walkers because they are disregarding city regulations?
So what if someone is reported. They just get a warning the first time, and then maybe the next time they go to Florida for three or four weeks, they get someone to mow it once.
Everyone has different priorities. Maybe instead of insisting that someone else's are wrong, how about we live and let live and let people who find it important that their neighbors follow ordinances be allowed to do so and not bullied on sites like this. Sheesh.
Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. City staff investigated and resolved the problem. Should you have any questions or concerns about the work performed, please leave a comment.
