Thank you for contacting the Howard County DPW Bureau of Highways. The center lane on N. Chatham Road is a Two-way Left Turn lane allows traffic from each approach to make left turns. The left turn arrows are placed on each approach per Maryland Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices standard Figure 3B-7a.This issue is now closed in Tell HoCo.
