NO, apparently cops don't care about the school zone on Fairview or the other commuters who are practically running people off the road... I got T-boned in this exact area not long ago... just sayin'. 661 days an open issue and nobody cares!

Investigation:
 This area of the Providence Division has a lot of traffic congestion (vehicle and pedestrian) and has several schools, bus stops and is a school zone.
 Since school started on 8/25/2014, this area has become even more congested.
 Between 8/29/2014 and 9/5/2014, Providence officers conducted Directed Traffic Enforcement in this area.
 During this enforcement period, officers made over 40 traffic stops and issued over 30 citations.
 Officers already work directing traffic in this area each morning and afternoon. This also makes the area a little safer.
Going Forward:
 Patrol and traffic officers will monitor this area (particularly during school hours.)
 Officers directing traffic will be advised to make sure vehicles coming through this area drive with care – by identifying unsafe acts/speeding – and taking enforcement action.
 We will encourage citizens to call 911 when and if they see aggressive/unsafe driving.
Conclusion:
 Our Directed Traffic Enforcement increased our visibility in this area. We were able to get people to slow down.
 We are aware that this is a congested area that citizens use to get to and from school.
 We will continue to monitor this area and take enforcement action against anyone that drives unsafely or speeds.

Thank you! I. too, am in a rush to get my child to school, but given that it is congested mainly with people getting kids to school, I do appreciate the monitoring! It seems that hardly anyone slows down for the school zone in front of Country Day School and I also got T-boned right there with someone coming out of Arbor Way. Thank you again!
