Description

Unified Parking Partners continues to flout the city's sidewalk sign laws. They put their sign back up at the corner of Congress and Park streets today. As you can see in the photo they put some kind of white tape over the Unified Parking Partners name and logo.

On several occasions this week they have employed a person to stand at the corner of Park and Congress streets holding UPP signs and orange flags in an attempt to direct traffic down Park Street.

While UPP may believe (erroneously) that they are exploiting loopholes in the city's sign codes by putting tape on their signs or having someone hold them, what is clear is that they have no intention of complying with the law.

I hope city staff will act quickly to put a stop to UPP's flagrant defiance of the regulations that exist to protect our streetscapes from this kind of visual clutter.
