The reason for the dual left turn was to accommodate the high volume of left turning traffic during the peak periods of the day. This reduced the chance of the turning traffic backing up into the through lanes of Glenwood. It was discussed; to have the two lanes continue around however upon further review in was not feasible due to on street parking. Although, it causes a little more delay on Woman’s Club, it does get the drivers out of main street traffic flow of Glenwood. Thanks for your concern with the safe and efficient movement of traffic.

So what can be done about this? There really isn't a need for on street parking since all buildings on that street have either a parking lot with more than sufficient parking or a several story parking deck.
