Winthrop St is a heavy traffic road to travel between Rte 126 and 135. Over a year I presented to the board of selectmen traffic concerns such; high speed in a 25mph street, lack of pedestrian crossing from 126 upto Mellen St, lack of speed signs, and the visibility problems when cars are entering from Mellen St into Winthrop. Also, how cars cut across from Down St to Mellen St carelessly causing traffic concerns. The town nicely fix and address some of those issues from the corner to Mellen St to the 135 entrance of Winthrop St., but not towards the 126 entrance. The town received grands for traffic alleviation on 126 and 135. I don't get why speed bumps and better or any speed signs where not added in this road but where found more needed on Millwood Road. School started we have a lot of students crossing without pedestrian path in this end in a high speed road. Mellen St also doesn't have speed signs nor crossings in between. We have flying trucks/vans with tons of ladders on top, racing motorcycles and careless auto drivers. Enough, please remediate the traffic issues in Winthrop St and Mellen St before a fatal accident or tge death of a pedestrian happens. Please help.
