Saw two more rats tonight running across School St and ran behind the Smoke Shop. This seems to be everynight and a danger to 100's of kids walking to school. This has been going on for a few years and it is not getting better. Why aren't all of the establishments in the area forced to put the large black rat traps/poison behind them like most restaurants do?

Thank you once again for bringing this issue to our attention. The sanitation department has reported resolving the overgrowth issue on the reported public section of School Street under work order #24365.

ISD inspection of 657 and 691 Broadway took place on 10/4/16. Violations not found. Issue remains active with ISD.

Thank you for cutting the weeds back and inspecting two of the businesses - it is greatly appreciated. My question now is about the rat population. You can see them each evening in this area. Will the city place rat traps to try and resolve this issue? Why can't each budiness place the black traps/poison behind each building? Unfortunately rats breed and multiply in 22 days...without trying to exterminate them we will have a larger rat population month after month.

This business just does not get it! We are tired of seeing rats (saw a huge dead rat behind the Safy Mart a few days ago) the area is loaded with rats! I am sure this is a violation! Do you check for rat burrows? I see rats running around this area 2-3 times per week at night.

White garbage bags all over the street...on top of the recycling bin and the lone garbage barrel. Behind 266 Broadway...this happens all the time! It is disgusting and embarrassing! How does a business keep doing this?

Thank you for updating this issue. Based on this submitted picture and a previously reported issue, the location of this property looks like it is behind 653 Broadway on the School Street side. An inspection of the property will be scheduled and results will be posted.

Thank you very much....we neighbors will be watching this closely because it seems the owner does not care. Still inadequate amount of trash cans (2) for the amount of trash the establishment produces each week.
