I'm talking about once the year is up. They are refusing to leave or vacate the premises once the new year starts. A new family has signed a lease already and are set to move in at the beginning of January.

Right......so how do you know that action will not be taken to force them out at the end of the year if a new family is already planning on moving in? That seems like a potential issue especially for public housing.

Right. You see the problem with this then. It's a really delicate situation and if they decide to tangle this up in the courts anymore than what they have they could potentially put the new tenants out in the streets if they can't find a replacement home.

I don't see the problem now and I agree with everyone that this is NOT a SeeClickFix issue. The family has until the end of the year to move out and if not, that'll be a problem on January 1st. You can't take preemptive action for something that you "think" might happen.

These guys are in it for the long haul. They have stockpiled food and water and have a fence around the whole property. Does this sound like they are ready to move anytime soon?

Probably not but the city cannot legally take action against what they think someone is going to do, even if you know that it 99.9% will happen unless they are already in violation of their lease. It sucks that it's that way but it is what it is.

Because there is nothing to "fix" until January 1st. It's like reporting a guy walking down the street may possibly be casing houses to SeeClickFix.

I think that occupant is moving to Charlotte. I heard Duke Energy has a bathroom monitor position open.

Surely this is a matter that the residents, the landlord, and the city would deal with. It's nobody elses business.
