I don't see what the problem is. I watched the construction crew carefully take down this lovely new shelter that we had & put it carefully on a truck, when they were working there. That work has been completed for a long time now. Why can't they just return it the same way & carefully put the same pieces, carefully together again?

Sorry, my above comment was referring to the Bus Shelter at The Esplanade & Market St. I just read in the Star that they cost $25,000 ea of taxpayer's money. Well, this one at the location I'm talking about, was there, taken away & should be replaced . . . at no further cost!

There is a separate Report on the Esplanade/Market shelter but the 'bottom line' is that Hydro are about to instlll new steeet lighting and the sidewalks etc on The Esplanade will all be totally fixed in late summer 2013; the shelter will not be back until then. Its concrete base was destroyed so it can't simply be reinstalled exactly where it was.

The ongoing saga . . . will we ever get our Bus Shelter back????

You may want to read the Fixer report (see link above) on these small shelters. According to this column the existing small shelters will NOT be replaced. I am thus closing this issue.

The sidewalk here is huge. If they can't replace this advertising kiosk here with a proper sized one, then there is no place the proper sized one will fit and they may as well not have it all. Not only is it too small but the seat faces the wrong way. The only reason I can think of that they won't replace it is because they are too ashamed of themselves to admit they were incompentent when they installed it in the first place. By keeping it and not replacing it they are just proving their incompetence and stupidity. It makes no sense to me that someone would want to have a reminder of their inability to do the job properly always there. A good employee takes responsibility for mistakes and corrects them. These people obviously have no desire to feel good about their work and just want to take their money and run. Very sad indeed.
