Description

Tonight (04/24/2017), a yellow garbage truck was picking up wastes around the Liberty Ave area between Manhattan Avenue and Lake Street. My driveway at 249 Liberty Ave, which is shared by 3 other apartment buildings, was blocked off by consolidated garbage bags collected from the several nearby buildings and homes. This consolidation was done in several piles down Liberty Ave. After taking the time to remove the dozens of bags in my way, the yellow garbage truck finally decided to show up by reversing into the one-way street rather than going around and following traffic like I've seen other garbage trucks too. The garbage men refused to listen to me ask kindly to NOT block the active driveway and to consolidate the trash elsewhere (like at the empty spaces hydrant spot right next to the driveway) so not to inconvenience anyone else. One particular white male hanging on the truck told me, "Can't hear you, sorry beautiful." They then sped off to pick up the next pile of trash in the middle of Liberty Ave between Beach & Manhattan, and then decided to REVERSE from there to go up Beach St where two cars behind them had to reverse to let them through. I continued to watch from the outside of my building where the same white male shouted "Dream of me tonight, Princess." They then went down Lake St and illegally reversed towards Carlton Ave to pick up a public garbage bin that was already previously placed in the middle of the street. I don't appreciate this harassment and inconvenience because these employees are lazy and inconsiderate. The truck remains in reverse during their pick-ups so you hear the reverse-warning beeps the entire time they are picking up. At 10:30PM, that is incredibly inconsiderate. Please do something to rectify this issue.
