Can you add a speed hump (bump)?Because every night, some cars speeds up above 45 mph (especially 60 mph) on a residential road (all Bataan). If those cars/pick up trucks lose control, then they can ram onto a house. Thank you.

Thank you for contacting us,
Speed cushions are the new approach to reduce cut-through traffic and reduce excessive vehicular speeds on residential streets. The construction of speed humps was discontinued in July 2009.
Speed cushions have replaced speed humps .
There will be no new construction of speed humps.
Speed humps/cushions will be replaced during street reconstruction.
Street reconstruction is through ReBuild Houston.
The only maintenance done for speed humps will be restriping.
Highlights/Goals of the speed cushion device include :
Reduce the average speed from 35 MPH + to 20/25 MPH.
Less costly and more efficient because they work as well as the traditional speed humps.
Easy to install taking about 30 minutes per unit.
Cost about $4,000 to install versus $16,000 for the traditional speed hump.
Speed Cushions are mobile and can be removed during a street overlay project.
Application for a speed cushion:
One or more property owners or residents within a neighborhood area, or an authorized representative of a neighborhood association, may apply.
Applicants can privately fund their project or request to receive public funding assistance.
If the program will be privately funded, the applicant is responsible for all costs associated with the project, including planning, mailing, engineering, and construction of approved devices.
Requests for public funding assistance will be prioritzed based on need and amount of public funds available.
