The JCIA has indicated that they are going to put signs on public trash cans to educate the public as to their proper usage and penalties for violation. I am changing the status to "open" until that happens.

Gone for now but other trash has arrived!

They solved the trash issue by removing the trash can, so I guess the lesson here is, if you report a problem beware! It's like having a broken ankle and cutting off the foot to solve the problem. What can be said on these problems anymore! I give up....I am going to start wearing blinders now when I leave my house that way I won't see any issues that was a suggestion from my neighbor!

Councilwoman-elect Osbrone said she was going to deal with the public trash can issue, so let's save our breath and, through the respective neighborhood associations and DCNA, get this sorted out once and for all.

The can may have been removed by request of whoever lives in the residence on that corner is forced to look at all that trash all that time due the city's inability to maintain it.

I know it wasn't removed at the request of the person on the corner...let's see how this is resolved, however one thing I can say that I have observed since the trash am is gone, we have the same problem now just further up the block on Coles, household garbage in public trashcans! Still don't get why folks think they can't put their own garbage in their own home cans for trash day:) amazing!

I know for a fact that the only way city receptacles are removed is when it becomes a dumping ground for residents putting their own household trash in it and filling it up mutable times a day. Some receptacles are emptied more then three times a day and that becomes a burden on tax payers to continually remove household garbage
