This was posted to the see click fix on the county site. I don't know how it got back to St. Pete. Please don't just close this issue until the road is repaired. Someone is going to get hurt there. I know the city doesn't maintain this road, that is why i went to Pinellas County website to attempt this again.

Thank you for letting us know, I have called the county directly and informed them of the situation and the size of the pothole. They stated that they will send out a response team. I will follow up with this issue.

Thanks for calling the county, I hope you explained that the entire stretch of the road needs attention. It is forcing cyclists out toward the center of the lane to avoid the broken up asphalt in the tire worn part of the lane. The whole road on Saturday is an accident waiting to happen. Cyclists going in both directions trying to avoid the damaged road and cars trying to pass cyclists, one day cars will meet head on trying to pass cyclists.

The patch job was halfhearted. The pothole was filled but not even enough to equal the grade of the road. a few other spots were patched but there are so many other bad spots, some 2" wide 6" long, and 2" deep which will easily ruin a road bike wheel. Some of the spots are close to the bridge many are in the southbound lane which was not addressed. How can we get this repaired in a safe way for cyclists? Seriously, hundreds of cyclists ride this road every weekend! It is very much appreciated that the pothole was mostly filled but it was about 85% filled. It may be ok for a car to go over but not bicycles. People ride this to access Weedon Isle park by bicycle, why is it so difficult to get a good repair made? Is this repair temporary? I will try to pull video from my bicycle camera tomorrow. Please help! Thanks,

Can we go out there with a bag of concrete to fill the holes ourselves? It seems that we need to do it ourselves. I will purchase a couple bags of cement and mix onsite, pour into the cracks and put cones out for half an hour until is sets. OK?

I concur with the Rasterdan. The entire stretch of San Martin from the bridge to Gandy needs to be milled and repaved. That is the only safe solution for cyclists. While you're at it, put signs in place that state bikes may use the full lane and sharrows in the middle of each lane.

As a cyclist, that also frequently rides San Martin, I agree with Rasterdan as well about the severity , and decline of that road. I am hoping this issue can be addressed quickly, and the repairs needed are of good quality. The southbound lanes, approaching the bridge, are the worst, by far. Thank you for looking into this, passing it along to whomever needs to see it, and helping in any way you can.

Thank you for your help in addressing these issues. I noticed the partial repair on the shoulder of the curve (as you head north) just before the back entrance to the dog track. As I recall, my first response was, "great, they fixed it" but when I saw the full repair, I wondered, "what? Didn't they bring enough?!" -

We had the same same. 1 more foot of asphalt would have completed the job.

I have contacted the county with your concerns. It is my hope that they will repair the area properly

CSR3 assigned this issue to Pinellas County SCF

One consideration that the maintenance folks may not realize is that long (in direction of travel) narrow cracks can grab a wheel causing a rider to go over the handlebars. Road bike tires are only 3/4" to 1" wide so it doesn't take a very wide crack to cause a crash.

CSR 1, thanks for helping us with this road! I know it isn't a city problem but somehow it got on the city SCF site. I went there to open it figuring it was the correct SCF. The cyclists who ride this are thankful for patching the big pothole at the Weedon Dr. intersection. The road just needs a bit more love is all.
