Description
Allowing traffic to turn left on Reed St from Rhode Island Ave NE is what causes a large amount of traffic backup on Rhode Island. Vehicles should need to turn prior to it after where a turn lane is present. This change would greatly help traffic congestion on Rhode Island Ave.

If it is possible, there also needs to be a left turn lane from east bound Rhode Island to 12th Street N. This is the entrance to a commercial zone and should be more accessible than other streets from Rhode Island Ave.
I suggested all of these things when there was a paid traffic study years ago, but I couldn't get the highly paid professionals to even suggest these measures in their study...

After we have reported and then commented on this issue as citizens, we need more than just "resolved" or "closed" in response. What was actually done???

It would also take changing the left turn arrow on the light.
And as I stated before, there was a $278,000 traffic study done of this cooridor years ago as a pre-curser to the improvements along 12th Street. Even after hours and hours of meetings, those making the study absolutely refused to make accommodations in any new design proposals to improve the flow of traffic along Rhode Island Ave.
Those making the traffic study are paid or employed by the district government and they put into their studies what they are told to put into their studies by those paying them.
