说明
Many drivers treat Glasgow St like a race track between Berks & High St. driving at excessivly high speeds, yet no speeding tickets are issued. There have been incidents where various small animals have been killed because they couldn't get out of the way of these drivers. Next it could be an elderly person or child trying to cross the street and get hit. Drivers need to realize that as they're racing through.

Regarding an earlier comment, when you get down past Elm Street (?) it's a straight shot to High Street and almost all cars take advantage of that by speeding. Most of the really bad potholes are before Walnut Street as you are coming down the hill toward High St, although the whole road is bad.
You're welcome to sit down in the 300-500 block one day & see just how bad the speeders are! To make matters worse, 2 speeding cars try to fit through the road at the same time (with cars parked on both sides). Most home owners in that stretch of the road have had at least 1 mirror ripped off, if not more damage.........and the speeders keep on going most of the time!
BTW, I don't think the person who put this comment up was only limiting it to one area of the street, as you have to pick a spot on the map. I know drivers speed even going toward Walmart, but when you're coming down toward High Street, there is a hill at Berks and then a straight shot all the way down and trust me, there are people doing AT LEAST 80 mph sometimes! As residents with small children, we're sick of it. And YES, we have complained over & over and get the same response from BOTH towns....both saying it's the other's responsibility! They ough to be ashamed of themselves. When someone finally does get hurt I wonder what excuse will be used then........thanks for letting me vent. I feel better now, sort of. :-)
Just think if they actually gave out speeding tickets they could probably raise enough money to fix the road!

Did someone force them to buy a house without a driveway? The road system was not created for parking but for travel. if residents want to "buy" and pay a maintenance fee for a parking spot then that sounds great to me.
Artificially low speed limits actually cause more accidents go to www.nhtsa.gov lots of research has been done on this.

Oh Please.......many of the homeowners on this street have owned for decades. Are we supposed to move because people can't drive the speed limit? Making driveways on a city street is NOT possible (or safe for that matter) and parking in the allys is IMPOSSIBLE due to extremely poor maintenance! Like any other city street, the city needs to enforce the speed limit for once, put in more stop signs or install speed bumps to slow people down. The street is a hazard, period and is another accident waiting to happen because most drivers are impatient when they speed down this street and don't want to yield to oncoming traffic while they're speeding to their next destination! As a homeowner, it's annoying.
Ted, I'm just wondering, if the road system is not made for parking, what do you suggest Pottstown residents do? Should we sell our house because people can't follow a speed limit?
