The vehicles had been tagged on 05-08-17 and then towed on 05-22-17 by Sgt Holbrook. I spoke with the owner today and advised him that they need to be removed, fixed or they would be retagged and towed for a second time. Please keep in mind that entering someone's property and seizing someone's property isn't taken lightly by myself or most officers. As police officers the courts have made it clear to tread lightly on the warrantless seizing of property. We WILL tag and tow vehicles when necessary but we also make every effort to work with the property owner. I thank you for your patience.

Warrantless? Is there not a law against unregistered or un plated vehicles? Would it be pointless to report the two vehicles unplated in the driveway next door to them (7630 Montana)?

I believe I said we will tag and tow vehicles on private property. I also said we simply try and work with a home owners as much as possible. I spoke with the owner and will work with him to correct the problems.
