Description
Erie Street had a bicycle lane on the right hand side before the street was resurfaced. People in the bicycle community have mentioned that the preference is to have a bicycle lane on the left side of a one way street, not the right side. I imagine it is because a person driving has better visibility to how much room is on the left side versus the right side and also because when a car parks on the left side of the road, the driver side door will open into the sidewalk, not into the street's bicycle lane where a person is riding their bicycle. Can we please consider this or investigate further *before* the bicycle lane is painted on Erie Street?

it's disingenuous to claim that the right side is preferable.
it is definitely less safe.
a little consistency would be great.
