Thank you for taking the time to express your concerns. Based on the information you provided, I’ve forwarded your comments to Parking Enforcement Officer Ken Lundgren. Officer Lundgren is very well versed in island-wide parking regulations and will be able to provide some feedback. It may take a couple of days, but his response will be posted here.
Just to follow up; parking is not prohibited where the truck is, but RCW 46.51.570 (4) does state "It shall be unlawful for any person to reserve or attempt to reserve any portion of a highway for the purpose of stopping, standing, or parking to the exclusion of any other like person..." By leaving the truck there for long periods of time without moving it, it seems they may be violating code. Our Parking Enforcement Officer informed me just this morning that he has the truck owner contact information. He will attempt to contact them in the near future to educate them and ask that they move their vehicle. Please feel free to contact us again if the problem persists.
