Please clean the storm ditches along providence road. Also the storm drains on Timberlake drive & Edwin drive etc. I would also like to add the storm ditch behind the homes on both sides of Eastwind Rd.

Dear City of Virginia Beach - PLEASE help us by clearing the Providence Road ditch before hurricane season! So many of us had flooding in our yards, crawl spaces, and garages last fall that caused property damage and cost us in time and money. Personally, I had 7 inches of water in my garage on Kelso Court, which ruined my well motor and caused the electronic eyes of my garage door opener not to work for months. I also took time off from work to clean and deodorize the garage.

The open sewer along Providence Rd. is again filled with vegetation. This sewer requires ANNUAL maintenance until a permanent sewer is installed not just occasional attention Now is the time to clean it before another hurricane floods Bellamy Manor and other nearby subdivisions. I suspect this open sewer would not be tolerated in many communities. Please get this sewer on an annual clean-out schedule and engineer a permanent fix. THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE FOR OVER THIRTY YEARS. KEMPSVILLE DESERVES THE SAME CONSIDERATION AS ASHVILLE PARK AND NEWER SUBDIVISIONS. PERHAPS CIVIC LEAGUES SHOULD ENCOURAGE TAXPAYERS TO ESCROW A PORTION OF THEIR REALESTATE TAXES UNTIL THE FLOODING PROBLEM IS FIXED.

The ditch along Providence Road along the Bellamy Manor Estates area needs cleaning ASAP. During the last storm, I had water in my crawls space for three days and five feet from my front door. I have personally walked down to the ditch area, and I see shrubs and debris in the ditch. The overgrow of trees and shrubs provide an ideal place for other mischief activities that are easily prevented if the shrubs and debris are removed.

The Providence Road Ditch, as its affectionately known, has been used by the city as a drainage system since Noah was an ensign. Newer neighborhoods have been built with up to date drainage at the developers expense and since Virginia Beach is going to "go it alone" on the capital improvement cost, they do not want to spend city funds in this older, less affluent section of the city. Cleaning the ditch is much less costly than installing drainage pipes, widening Providence Road and installing walkways. Come on Virginia Beach, save your dollars for the more important projects that you want at the ocean front and just spend a few dollars for a bandaid and thoroughly clean the PROVIDENCE ROAD DITCH.

The drainage ditch on Providence Road outside Bellamy Manor is a major problem. Flooding is occurring in the neighborhood on the streets. Please address this issue before the next storm. This has been an ongoing problem.

Where we rarely saw flooding we regularly see high water with normal heavy rain. Please clear our overgrown ditch on Providence Road. Flood waters create unsafe circumstances.

The Providence Rd drainage ditch need to be cleared of vegetation and culverts under the intersecting roads need to be cleaned. The same applied to the ditch north of and parallel to Eastwind. Flooding on Timberlake Dr and other area roadways is becoming more prevalent during heavy rains.
