ok..right after you step out on the street into traffic....i will be right behind you and we will watch you EXCERSIZE your ability to not get ran over.

It is very crazy to pull out in a car on Harper between 11 Mile and 10 Mile much worse trying to cross on foot or bike. Cars do not stop near cross walks. A full mile with no safe crossing.. With the speed so high they NEED a light mid way for people to cross!!!! With no bus for students in Lakeview district there are going to lots of kids crossing 5 lanes of 45 mph to get to and from school.

if i remember correctly there is a cross walk at frazho near the fire station you jurt have to be carefull crossing on the curve

"Cross walk", which people might stop for when the fire trucks come out but usually not right away! Would you want your child crossing there? We had to go all the way down to 11 mile to cross and we live by the verizon store. My husband and kids have stood at the cross walks and NO ONE yeilds, we still have to run for our lives or stand in the middle and wait for it to clear on the next side, very scary!!
I don't feel safe crossing Harper..

The speed limits are not set arbitrarily by the county, but rather based on the drivers on the road. Makes sense to me, the drivers know best how fast to travel on a road, don't they? If a speed limit is set artificially low in the name of perceived "safety", countless studies have shown that crashes increase on the route because of a disparity in travel speeds.

As for the crosswalk, if there are enough pedestrians that actually cross the street then contact the new department of roads. I believe there has to be a certain number of pedestrians in a day and per hour in order for a signal to be warranted for pedestrians only, not just based on someone feeling "unsafe".
