I drive this stretch every time I have to go into Kingston and it's terrible to drive on. It needs to be re-done so that the road is smooth to ride on.

I am in COMPLETE agreement that Route 32 (Boulevard) NEEDS paving and a sidewalk that goes to Golden Hill, Kingston Medical Center, and Gateway. Also, when inmates are released from the Law Enforcement Center they are walking along Route 32 and put themselves and drivers in DANGER, there needs to be bus only transportation to Greenkill or there needs to be sidewalks to the LEC (Law Enforcement Center).

I agree that the section of 32 leading to Golden Hill could benefit from a sidewalk-- in fact, my husband and I were just commenting on this on our walk through the neighborhood. Cars and trucks go fast around those turns, and pedestrians do not feel safe, especially with the lack of a significant shoulder.

I'm in agreement as well! I think it has been repaved - but there needs to be a sidewalk, and the rail trail connection needs to happen. Please support the work to put in the rail trail, which could solve the problem.

This has been a problem since 1985 when the county opened its new building on Golden Hill. There was no bus service at that time but the city of Kingston re-routed it's bus line to accommodate people visiting the building. A push was made by county employees to provide sidewalks for those who could not afford the bus and continued to walk route 32. At one point free tokens were given to those clients visiting the health building. A feasibility study determined that sidewalks were not a viable option given the width needed for safety. Clearly there should be a re-evaluation of this since it continues to be a safety concern
