City of Medford assigned this issue to Mary - DPW

The stumps will be removed by our Highway Dept. They will need to break out the sidewalk to remove the stump. I can't give a time frame, but they are on our stump removal list. To have a new tree planted the resident would need to call the DPW at 781-393-2419 to request a new tree. New trees are only planted in the Fall.

My thanks to the Mayor and especially to Aggie Tuden, Tree Warden for their personal interest in resolving the tree issues!

Now if we could only get the sidewalk work finished instead of all the holes with plywood framing and gravel, with many orange construction cones lining the street (interfering with parking and plowing) that have been there since October. If they couldn't finish properly in the months before the first freeze perhaps a temporary fix that isn't such an eyesore and space hog that the current situation is (on an already small street with limited parking.
