This is a seriously bad stretch of the trail. I ride to work EVERY day and have seen people partying, doing drugs, shooting up, and drinking alcohol for months if not years. Only once have I seen Shoreline PD. Once. Is this being ignored by City Council? Do we need a real police department and not farmed out King County Sheriffs? When are we going to address this? After a child gets Hepatitis from a drug user's needle? Embarrassing. Disgraceful. Irresponsible.

Hey City Council! This isn't a parks department problem. Quit hiding behind your desks with your 100k a year salary and walk the trail! Starting to act like the Seattle clown show! Looking the other way isn't fixing the problem. Should i send these needles in my yard to City Hall?

Our Parks Superintendent and his crew have been working diligently at cleaning up the homeless encampments along the Interurban Trail. The Shoreline Police Department has been working with the City on these homeless issues.

We are unable to identify the exact location based on picture attached. Please provide an exact location (nearest street address) so we can investigate further.
Our Park’s superintendent has noted that many of these areas are not on City property that we maintain or own.

It should be noted that Seattle City Light has tried to remove brush, etc. – but there has been neighbor push back.

We will continue to do the best that we can to address these issues .
