Deskripsyon

Cars do NOT stop and swerve around pedestrians in this crosswalk. Cars speed through at 30-40mph in a 25mph, on phones or just in a rush. This happens almost everyday ,morning and evening, when I walk to and from work for the past 2 years. I have seen this happen to others who try to cross as well. Please put a pedestrian light or something to make this intersection safer before someone gets hurt!

A pedestrian-activated Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) is slated to be installed at this location as part of an upcoming DPW project. RRFBs improve yielding to pedestrians at unsignalized crossings such as this. We have witnessed the cpd pull over 10+ cars in a matter of half an hour. I personally have used this intersection at least 4x a day for 5 years and am shocked at how fast and recklessly people drive through. I have a child in 4th grade who should otherwise be walking to school alone but for that intersection. It’s a notoriously big problem in our neighborhood. Thank you.
