Yet another 2 vehicle accident at this same intersection. Fire department just left the scene. Its been two months and it looks like there has been no action on this. This has been an on-going problem for years and keeps getting worse since traffic on these two streets has increase and speeds are not safe.

its almost 2 years since this comment was assigned to APD traffic engineering and 8 months since the last comment, and still no action on this intersection. this intersection is still all torn up after street and sidewalk construction with manhole covers and water access covers in the air. with the lack of visibility pulling out of Leonard Street, this makes the situation even more dangerous. and today the school buses start up and down Leonard and Second Avenues for the new school year.....

There was another accident here over the weekend. The City is in the process of painting new street markings at this intersection, so we will see if the situation is any better with this new fix.

this intersection is still an issue. Leonard Street needs to be a one way street or stop signs on all 4 sides. constant problems with school buses and cars not being able to get up or down if another vehicle is there. Blind corner pulling out of Leonard to get onto Second Avenue.

this intersection is still an issue. why can't it be made a 4 way stop like Slingerland St. now is? it is almost impossible to pull out of Leonard St. onto Second Ave. because the visibility is very bad. it is also hard to turn from Second Ave. onto Leonard St. for the same reason.
the buses from the Charter School line up and down the streets at the end of the day making it impossible to navigate. there is parking on both sides of the street which makes the street basically one way at times of the day. the city is working on the other intersections on Second Ave. except this one which is highly used all day long. thank you in advance for more attention to this matter.

May 7, 2020 at 8:04 am, yet another accident at this intersection. a vehicle coming out of Leonard St. went into the intersection and was hit in the passenger side door by a vehicle coming up Second Ave. The vehicle that came out of Leonard St. never spoke with the other driver and took off down Sloan St. The other driver chased the vehicle down Sloan St. unknown if that vehicle had damage. god knows what happened after that.

and yet another accident. 2 tow trucks and 3 ambulances. still nothing is done with this intersection. does someone have to die in order for the city to do something here?

3 vehicle accident (SUV, pickup truck and taxi), 2 ambulances to take 2 little children to the hospital. flatbeds towing away all 3 vehicles. and still the City ignores this intersection. meanwhile the dirt bikes come up the sidewalk where neighbors are out with their grandchildren. Albany, this has to stop!

still an issue, and it happened almost in front of me. a van with mother and kids was trying to pull out and a car came FLYING down Second Avenue and almost hit the van. Leonard St. is used a lot by parents picking up their kids from the charter school.

still not resolved. Second Avenue is still a raceway and god help those trying to pull out of Leonard Street. The City chose not to put any traffic slowing devices in the street like they will be doing on Mt. Hope.

i recently after waiting and checking traffic in both directions of 2nd Ave, pulled out slowly and was almost hit on both sides of my vehicle. there were no vehicles even close by when i attempted to pull out of Leonard St. both vehicles honked their horns at me. if they had been going the posted speed limit, they wouldn't have been there when i tried to pull out.

this has been an on-going issue that the city has not dealt with at all. on a daily basis, we hear screeching brakes when someone pulls out of the side street. this is a blind corner for pulling out due to cars parked on either side of second avenue at the intersection with leonard. st. This was reported in November 2017, here we are over 5 years later and the City of Albany still has not done a thing with this problem. The City just wants us to give up and shut up. well guess what, that's not what is going to happen. why open a new request when all the evidence and photos are on this request? will a new request make it all better and the City will address the issue? No, the new request will just sit on here for another 5 years. there has to be some why to make this intersection safe, please, look into it.
