Our team just checked this out. There is a definite odor coming from the area but when opening the Storm Water Drain Cover, the smell is not present. We have looked in several other Drains in the area but have not found anything that could be making the smell and have not found any problems with the sewer in the area. There is a confirmed problem further up 5th Ave that could be causing the odor. We are currently in process of correcting, no date for completion of project has been determined. After problem has been fixed, will check the area again and see if the odor still exists.

I doubt it ! I went walking about a month ago and smelled the same smell on the corner of sixth street and west carolina. The smell has been going on for over a year! People walking by my house can smell it .

Repairs are completed for what we believe was causing the odor.
