there should be a public schedule or at least a version of a probable timeline of when areas will be plowed. Tues or Weds before all streets have one lane open is not acceptable. I do realize that New Haven county got hit the hardest in this storm -- and that it was a surprise super hit, but the powers that be should have some idea of their progress to date and be able to forecast a probable timeline to open the remainder of the city's streets.

Roy, the city has no idea when that will happen. The National Guard is here because this is a national emergency.

This is a once in a century storm, and no one can possibly afford the cost of maintaining the infrastructure and salaries we would need to have the type of snow response some people are looking for. Once in a 100 years a storm like this happens.

I think at some point, people just have to accept being snowed in for a few days, and practice being patient.

This is an outrage we pay so much tax and the streets are so poorly plowed. I live on Hillside Ave in New Haven. We had our driveway shoveled by some kind neighbors when the trucks came they plowed all the snow into our driveway and other driveways. I posted several issue request with no reply. I phoned twice. The second time I called they said to ask to speak with the supervisor, which the driver of the truck refused. They took my name and phone again and said the supervisor will call when he can. They pushed more snow into the driveway and blocked my vehicle that I just paid someone $25.00 To clear the snow. I am handicapped and was in the hospital with pneumonia and a rapid heart rate. It is impossible for me to shovel. I tried and could feel my heart beating extremely fast. This is an outrage!!!

Do you know why it was hard to reach them? Because everyone in the city who woke up in their grumpy pants is calling.

Stop the kvetching. You aren't getting yourself to a better place, you're only being cranky and taking away from the time that our crews need to do the work.

I swear, I can't stand this constant chorus of, "COME PLOW COME PLOW" followed up by "THEY BLOCKED MY DRIVEWAY".

Folks, what do you THINK they will do with most of this snow? 3 feet! 3 feet and more in the streets! Where do you think they'll fit it all with GIANT machines, and irate, impatient, obnoxious people calling them every 30 minutes begging them to "hurry up"?

You can have a job done well, cheap, or fast: not all 3. Sometimes we have to be adults and spend an extra 30 minutes cleaning up after the plows.

Yea, it is hard work, so is clearing out cars for strangers you don't know when you don't even drive.

I am finding SCF to be incredibly frustrating. Please, try to limit yourself to asking for practical help or offering to help, and stop the general whiny-pants garbage.

As a resident and city worker it really boggles my mind to see so many negative complaints during this time regarding the snow storm and the city’s “slow” actions. As a person who is behind the scenes watching as my fellow employees put in hours upon hours of time without proper rest and lack of nutrition I feel that people should not be complaining so much. It is very selfish and inconsiderate to the workers who are busting their behind for their community. At least they deserve some type respect and to read these comments are really upsetting me because no one truly understands what these guys are going through at the moment. So I ask please calm down schools are still closed, 34 inches of snow will not disappear over night, sidewalk and driveways will be blocked and these guys have been working since Friday. Honestly complaining about this is not beneficial at the moment. Thank you.
